The Mining Open-air Museum in Brezove Hory

Exhibitions located in what were formerly operational and administrative buildings feature a rich mining history of this area, where silver, uranium and other ores were extracted. Visitors can travel by train, both on the surface and in the underground of the mine. Tours are conducted through several miles of mining tunnels; visitors can travel down the pit in a mining lift and they can ride on the slide which leads to a giant water wheel. The museum also features unique historical mining steam engines and an extensive collection of minerals, as well as an exhibition documenting the miners’ way of life.

January–March: Tuesday–Friday 9 am–4 pm (last tour at 3 pm).
April: Tuesday–Sunday 9 am–5 pm (last tour at 4 pm)
May–June: Tuesday–Friday 9 am–5 pm (last tour at 4 pm); Saturday–Sunday 9 am–6 pm (last tour at 5 pm)
July–August: Tuesday–Sunday 9 am–6 pm (last tour at 5 pm)
September–October: Tuesday–Sunday 9 am–5 pm (last tour at 4 pm)
November–December: Tuesday–Friday 9 am–4 pm (last tour at 3 pm).

Sightseeing tours may be organized for large groups of visitors at other times by prior arrangement only.
No entry into the underground areas for children under the age of six for health and safety reasons.
The tours of the exhibition associated with the Drkolnov Mine water wheel on tour site A start at 10 am, 12 noon and 2 pm. Visitors assemble at the Ševčin Mine entrance building. The Drkolnov Mine is at a distance of approximately 1,5 km; you will need to get there in your own vehicle or on foot. Walking visitors will be accompanied by a museum guide. Between November and March, this part of the museum is open by prior arrangement only; the slide is open only in favourable weather.
A mining train runs between the Ševčin and the Vojtěch Mines on tour site A at 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Extra train runs can be arranged between these times if there is sufficient interest. Between November and March, the train runs only under favourable weather conditions. The maximum number of passengers is 24.
A mining train runs through the Prokop tunnel in the Anna Mine on tour site B at 9 am, 9:30 am, 10 am, 10:30 am, 11 am, 11:30 am, 12 noon, 12:30 pm, 1 pm, 1:30 pm, 2 pm, 2:30 pm, 3 pm, 3:30 pm, 4 pm and 4:30 pm, between November and March by prior arrangement only. The maximum number of passengers is 22.
The sightseeing tours of the Wasserlauf, the water floor of the Anna Mine on tour site B, start at 9 am, 10 am, 11 am, 12 noon, 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm, between November and March and by prior arrangement only;the maximum number of visitors is 22. Please be advised that the tour is physically demanding. The walking tour extends to about half a mile underground and visitors climb 156 steps when emerging from the mine at the exit.
The sightseeing tour of the water wheel chamber in the underground of the Anna Mine on tour site B starts at 9:30 am, 10:30 am, 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm between November and March by prior arrangement only;the maximum number of visitors is 10. Please be advised that visitors will have to ascend and descend 60 steps.
The water shaft in the Anna Mine on tour site C is accessible between November and March by prior arrangement only.
In the Smithy in the Vojtěch Mine, visitors can watch demonstrations of a blacksmith’s work. These demonstrations take place by prior arrangement for groups of at least 20 people.
Selected parts of the Mining Museum Příbram have access for the disabled.

For visiting the underground, warm clothing and firm shoes are recommended.

The Příbram Mining museum is located in the Březové Hory area, approximately 2 km west of Příbram city centre. The way to the museum is signposted for cars on all access roads with European traffic signs IS 24b (cultural and historical sites).

Parking spaces for personal vehicles are available in each of the tour sites A, B, C. We recommend that coaches park near Site B „Důl Anna“ – „The Anna Mine“. A small parking area is also available at Site A „Ševčinský důl“ – „The Ševčin Mine“. Parking is free. The location of all car parks is indicated on the map.
